How To Get Around
NOTE: This 2,500-acre garden is not designed to be walked exclusively. For your enjoyment, please plan to access the many attractions, trails and recreational opportunities within the world’s largest public, self-guided woodland garden through one of the transportation options below.
Trail Hours of Operation: Daily, 9 a.m. to Dusk
Rentals: Daily, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (Last daily rentals at 3:30 p.m.)
Discovery Bicycle Trail
The Discovery Bicycle Trail is a wide, paved surface that meanders for 10 miles through a variety of scenic woodland environments, with stops at all of our world-class attractions. The gently rolling path has numerous entry points, giving guests of all ages an opportunity to explore as much of the Gardens as they like on two wheels.
Rental bikes are available daily, based on availability, at the Virginia Hand Callaway Discovery Center and the Lodge and Spa.

Four-seat or six-seat golf carts are available for rent by the day or overnight at the Mountain View Golf Pro Shop and at The Lodge and Spa.

Thanks to a vast network of walking trails, visitors to Callaway Gardens are mere minutes away from a great escape into the heart of nature. Our foot trails offer a wide array of options for casual walkers to serious hikers, all affording an up-close view of nature at its most spectacular. As you walk through the Gardens, be sure to check out the: Azalea Trail, Callaway Brothers Azalea Bowl, Holly Trail and Thornhill Hydrangea Garden, Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Trail, Laurel Springs Trail, Mountain Creek Trail, Rhododendron Trail, and Whippoorwill Lake Trail.

Please note that motorcycles are not permitted inside the Garden gates. They are permitted at the lodging locations, golf course and the Callaway Gardens Country Store.
